Summer is finally here and there are a lot of different opportunities to enjoy events down the Jersey shore. Starting in Ocean City, NJ, you are 30 minutes away from events in Brigantine or 30 minutes away from the southernmost point at Jersey shore; Cape May. What better time to start planning than in May? 


MAGIC & MYSTERY HOUSE TOUR: June 1-29. Cape May. Every Tuesday and Thursday. Take a step back in time to the Victorian Era in the 1879 Physick House Museum and learn about the Victorians’ fascination with magic, illusion, the mysterious, and the odd. Hear about the Great Lafayette, Houdini, Sherlock Holmes, Jack the Ripper, and much more! Tickets are limited to ensure social distancing; advance tickets are recommended. $20 for adults; $15 for children (ages 3-12).

WONDER’S BIRTHDAY BASH, GILLIAN’S WONDERLAND PIER: June 3. Ocean City. Celebrate Wonder Bear’s Birthday and Gillians’ 89 years. Enjoy a birthday bash fireworks show! All rides will be only two tickets. Wonder Bear will be available all night for photos.

CLUELESS AT THE PHYSICK ESTATE: “HOOK, LINE & SINKER’: June 5-26. “Clueless at the Physick Estate” returns this summer with an engaging new mystery based on the popular board game. “Hook, Line & Sinker” is this season’s “whodunit” mystery that dramatically unfolds as you travel through the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate. Can you solve this mystery before someone else vanishes? $25 for adults; $20 for children (ages 3-12).

LIGHTHOUSE FULL MOON CLIMBS  June 24. Cape May. Don’t miss the romance of a nighttime climb to the top of the Cape May Lighthouse. These special opportunities are only offered a handful of times each year, during a full moon. Regardless of a clear or cloudy night sky, you will join a select group who have experienced stepping out onto the Watch Gallery at nighttime. Revel in the view of the Delaware Bay and the southern tip of New Jersey from the highest vantage point on the peninsula. The Cape May Lighthouse is located at Cape May Point State Park, Lower Township (next to Cape May Point Borough Hall in Cape May Point), at 215 Lighthouse Ave., and normally closes at dusk. Admission for these special nighttime climbs is $20 for adults and $10 for children (ages 3-12).

BACK BAY FAMILY FUN DAY:  June 26. Ocean City. The event highlights what Ocean City’s bay businesses have to offer. Family-friendly fun including live music, fantastic food, entertainment, and educational demonstrations. 2nd Street and Bay Avenue.

SUMMER CRAFTS & COLLECTIBLES SHOW: June 26. Cape May. Shop and browse outdoors on the grounds of the beautiful Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. among crafters and collectibles dealers from the tri-state region.

ANTIQUE AUTO SHOW: June 26. Ocean City. Over 300 vintage vehicles. Tabernacle grounds, 6th, and Asbury Avenue. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Boardwalk parade after 2 p.m.

QUILT & FIBER ARTS SHOW: June 26-27. Historic Cold Spring Village, Cape May. Throughout the weekend enjoy dyeing and spinning demonstrations. Each day will feature a Viewer’s Choice quilt show, speakers, demonstrations, and vendors.

WACKY WEDNESDAY – TAFFY SCULPTING: June 30. Ocean City. Use your creativity to shape and sculpt Shriver’s salt-water taffy into your very own unique masterpiece.
