Buying a home involves having patience, determination, and consistency while looking for homes that fit your needs. As human beings, we tend to make up our minds about where we want to live even though there is the potential to find a home with everything we want, just one zip code over. While working with buyer clients, I like to walk through a series of questions to understand what my client is truly looking for. For example, I recently worked with a client that was looking to live in 19122 (Olde Kensington Area), but as we continued to talk, I learned that she was looking for an original home with a more historic feel. 19122 is an up-and-coming area with more new construction than historically feeling homes. Based on our conversation, I was able to find a handful of homes that fit my client’s list in the Fishtown/Olde Port Richmond section of the city. After touring multiple homes, we were able to find the historic feeling home she desired, and we closed under asking! The most important part of the home buying process is ensuring you decide what you want and keep an open mind while searching for it. As a realtor, it is my job to understand your desires and understand the best areas that will help you achieve your goals even if it’s in the next zip code over. ☺
